600 lumens, IP68, and batteries from any shop. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Hey !

The HA19 landed this week. 600 lumens, IP68, and it runs on two AA batteries.

That last part is why I'm writing to you about it.

Most of our headlamps run on built-in or proprietary cells, and for good reason, because that's where the light weight and the big output live.

The HA19 is the first one in a long time to put that same current tech on batteries you can buy at any petrol kiosk.

Here's what that gets you.

One. Anyone can keep it running.

Your kid takes it to camp, your dad borrows it to look under the sink, it sits in the car boot for a year. Two AA go in and it works. Nobody has to remember a cable.

Two. You still get rechargeable if you want it.

It takes our NH2400 cells, which are USB-C rechargeable AA, 2400mAh, four to a pack. Rechargeable when you've planned ahead, alkaline off a shelf when you haven't, and it's the same light either way.

Three. It gives up almost nothing to do that.

600 lumens, three shades of white from warm to cool, plus red, green and blue. The warm setting reads CRI 98, so colours look true instead of washed out. IP68 down to two metres, 90 hours on the low setting, and 107g with the batteries in.

And I know what you're thinking, which is that AA headlamps are the dim ones.

That used to be true, because the good tech went into rechargeable packs first.

This is the one where it crossed over.

So if you already carry a rechargeable and you're happy with it, keep it. The HA19 is the one you buy for everyone else in the house.

Have a look at the beam shots on the page before you decide.

The HA19 is $79, down from $89 →

Not every light needs a cable.

As promised, value in under a minute.

Sincerely,
Ming Jie

P.S. My dad, when I told him the torch needs charging.
