Albert Cheuret studied sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in his native Paris, hence the elegant artistry of the Art Deco floor lamp he designed around 1920. It takes the form of a stylised palm tree, with a textured silvered-bronze ‘trunk’ and foliate forms appearing to sprout from the top to support the alabaster shade

Estimate: €80,000-120,000

Dating from the 1930s, these Cartier ‘rose à la main’ clip brooches, in the form of hands holding flowers, are made of coral, black enamel, old and rose-cut diamonds, yellow gold, platinum and silver. In a witty and whimsical touch, the wrists of the sculpted hands are themselves adorned with miniature bracelets

Estimate: CHF 12,000-18,000

This magnum of Le Pin 1982 is seriously covetable: a very rare expression of a legendary Bordeaux vintage from a vineyard producing no more than 700 cases a year. Critic Robert Parker called the wine a ‘flamboyant, exotic, lavishly rich, concentrated, low-acid fruit bomb’ and gave it a perfect score of 100

Estimate: HK$85,000-120,000
