It is with great pleasure that I write to you to highlight some of the exceptional art and objects that Christie’s will offer over the forthcoming months.

In New York, we will present our 20/21 Spring Marquee week of sales with the exhibition opening for viewing on Saturday, May‌ 3‌ in our Rockefeller Center galleries.  Our 20‌th Century evening sale, on May‌ 12‌, is highlighted by Leonard & Louise Riggio: Collected Works comprising 39 works from the esteemed collection of these passionate collectors.  Masterpieces in the group include works by Mondrian, Picasso, Giacometti, Magritte and key works by Rothko and Richter.

We are also honored to present a collection of works from the interior of the renowned Bass House in Fort Worth, Texas, an iconic design by the architect Paul Rudolph.  An exemplary Mark Rothko canvas leads the group which also includes works by Kelly, Stella, Calder and Severini.

Additional exceptional offerings within the sale include Monet’s monumental Peupliers au bord de l’Epte, crépuscule and an important Warhol still life, Big Electric Chair.

 
JEAN-MICHEL BASQUIAT (1960-1988) Baby Boom
 

Our 21st Century Evening Sale on Wednesday‌ May‌ 14‌ will feature a triple portrait by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Baby Boom.  The sale will also be highlighted by For Art’s Sake: Selected Works by Tiqui Atencio & Ago Demirdjian, a magnificent group of 16 contemporary works of art, led by the works of Cecily Brown and Ed Ruscha.

In Geneva, Christie’s Magnificent Jewels auction will include historic and modern jewelry from all periods as well as unique examples from Harry Winston, Cartier, JAR, Van Cleef & Arpels, to name just a few.

A highlight of our May‌ 14‌ sale will be A Bouquet Of Gems: A Superb Collection Of Jewels By JAR – one of the largest and most important private collections of 21 works by the visionary designer, Joel Arthur Rosenthal.

Rounding out May‌ in Hong Kong, we have a series of exquisite luxury sales, across handbags, jewelry, watches and wines including a collection of iconic wines from the cellar of Joseph Lau.

 

Turning to June, as part of their Summer Season of events, London will present Post-War to Present Live & Online auctions featuring ‘The Chandler’ by Victor Man and Lynette Yiadom-Boakye’s ‘8‌PM‌ Zaragoza’, as top attractions. Paris will present Art d’Asie, Maitres Anciens (Painting & Sculpture) and Art d’Afrique: an exciting month with many treasures to be discovered and more to be announced.  For the full timetable of events by location please visit our On View page at Christies.com.
