Giovanni's Room

Giovanni’s Room is coming this June

When we asked which authors you wanted to see in Folio form, James Baldwin came through loud and clear. So we’re thrilled to share the news: Giovanni’s Room is arriving on 3 June – and here’s your first glimpse.

Thoughtfully designed to reflect the intimacy of the novel, the book is quarterbound with a yellow cloth spine and sized like a private journal. The slipcase shows an abstract painting of the Paris apartment, while charcoal portraits of David and Giovanni appear on the binding – the two men held within the ‘room’ of the case itself.

Baldwin’s writing is lyrical, fearless and seminal – and we’ve designed this book to honour all of that. We can’t wait to share it with you in full this June.
