DANTE MARIONI
Balla

pendant lights commissioned by Osteria Balla, Sydney
Dante Marioni, an American master studio glass artist, has claimed international recognition for his creations and is coveted by both private and institutional collections.

Balla pendant lights were commissioned by chef Stefano Manfredi and restaurateur Julie Manfredi Hughes of Osteria Balla.
Osteria Balla Manfredi
The restaurant’s design was inspired by early C20th Italian Futurist artist, Giacomo Balla, a founding member of the avant-garde movement Futurismo that celebrated modernity.

The Futurists looked to progressive technology, speed and urban landscapes as subject matter for a new style of painting that presented a shift from Italy’s classical traditions. Their paintings are typically kinetic and often convey motion and energy through techniques like fragmentation, repetition, and multiple viewpoints.
