AUCTION

A landmark collection of works on paper takes centre stage at London’s 20th/21st Century Art auctions this October

BROWSE AUCTION

The Hegewisch Collection is one of the greatest private collections of European prints and drawings, spanning 1500 to 1960 and enriched by West African art. Featuring exceptional works by Dürer, Rembrandt, Munch, Léger and Picasso, the ensemble evokes a blend of ominous beauty, sensuality, humour and the uncanny.

Built over a lifetime, Klaus Hegewisch’s (1919–2014) collection reveals a man captivated by the power of graphic art and drawn to images that oscillate between light and shadow. The first part of his remarkable collection will be offered on 16 October in London.
