Vintage, Antique & Collectible Auction 6th - 11th February 

Hayward’s has prepared another of our popular Vintage, Antique & Collectable timed online auctions and it’s a big one with just under 900 lots. Bidding starts at 5:00pm Thursday the 6th of February with the first lots closing Tuesday the 11th at 6:00pm.

We have a great range of items in this sale – from a fascinating Chinese bronze censer with carved timber base to some lovely mid-century Parker-Knoll teak furniture. We have large Asian floor vases, mid-century Empoli Italian geometric glass decanter, art glass bowls, vases, figurines, paper weights, studio pottery items from Barry Brickell, Peter Stichbury, Lawrence Ewing, Neil Grant, Royce McGlashen and more. There’s Hanmer, Burnay and Blue Mountain pottery, a large Beswick stag figure, Hereford N.Z. hand painted china, Lladro figurines with original boxes and other fine china figurines, cast metal figurines and figural urns, uranium glass, retro water sets, vintage and modern glass light shades and fittings.
 
You’ll find a compact 4 ft. baby grand piano, vintage Harmony archtop guitar, Epiphone banjo, button accordions, vintage Stewart-Warner wood-cased valve radio with horn speaker and Majestic electric radio-gramophone in walnut case, a portable wind-up gramophone, transistor radios, long-case, mantel and wall clocks, retro alarm clocks, timber serving trays, tea trolleys, antler-handled and sterling-silver mounted walking sticks. Books on birds, Otago mining, Graham Sydney, Jane’s Fighting Ships from 1932 and lots of 1950s and 60s vintage comics. Antique cross-stitch samplers, textile pictures, framed paintings and prints, Whites Aviation and other vintage photos and 2 sets of mounted unframed Goldie Maori portrait prints.
 
Cast iron theatre seats, enamel metal advertising signs, Shacklock Dunedin cast iron wheelbarrow wheels, Fun Ho and other cast metal and tin toy vehicles, construction sets, dress forms, large concrete garden urns and small cast iron planters, lantern slides, cameras, an Amiga CD32 game system, wristwatches, greenstone and paua jewellery, costume brooches and beaded necklaces, silver, gold, diamond and opal rings, pendants and bracelets.
 
Mid-century furniture includes Parker Knoll teak sideboard cabinets and bookcases with cupboard bases, a large mahogany room divider with open shelves, coffee tables, bedroom chests, dining tables and chairs. There’s also a 1980s Scandinavian black leather lounger, vintage rolled arm brown leather brass studded 2-seater settee, oak arts & crafts Beaconsfield style wardrobe and a deco oak bookcase / writing desk.
 
Fans of heavily carved oak furniture will want to check out the antique northern European walnut sideboard and tall hall seat with lift up storage, and there’s also a large oak 4-drawer display cupboard with carved door panels. We have a Sheraton style vitrine / display table, a tall Victorian mahogany barrel top desk with glazed bookcase top, a nice Victorian rimu dining table on heavy turned legs.
